SportyBet betting terms Ghana — plain-English glossary

New to the SportyBet slip? These are the market names Ghanaian punters ask about most, each with a one-line meaning and a quick example. Bookmark it and jump to what you need.

Over/Under 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 — what the number means

Over/Under bets are on the total goals in a match, not who wins. The number is the line; “Over” needs more than it, “Under” needs fewer.

  • Over 0.5 — at least 1 goal in the match. Wins the moment anyone scores.
  • Under 0.5 — the match ends 0-0.
  • Over 1.52 or more goals total. Example: 1-1, 2-0 and 3-1 all win.
  • Under 1.50 or 1 goal total (0-0, 1-0, 0-1).
  • Over 2.53 or more goals. Example: 2-1 wins, 1-1 loses.
  • Under 2.52 or fewer goals total.

GG / NG (both teams to score)

GG = “Goal-Goal”, both teams score at least once (also labelled BTTS – Yes). NG = “No-Goal”, at least one team fails to score (BTTS – No). Example: 2-1 is GG; 3-0 is NG. It is independent of who wins.

Draw No Bet (DNB)

You back a team to win, but if the match is a draw your stake is refunded. It removes the draw risk in exchange for shorter odds than a straight win. Example: back Team A DNB – if A wins you collect, if it is a draw you get your money back, only an A loss loses the bet.

1UP / 2UP (early payout)

These are promotions, not markets. 2UP pays your single out as a winner the moment your team goes 2 goals ahead, even if the opponent comes back. 1UP is the 1-goal-ahead version some books run. Availability and eligible competitions change – confirm the current 1UP/2UP terms on the operator before relying on them.

Handicap, accumulator and cash out

Handicap gives one team a virtual head start (e.g. -1 means they must win by 2+). An accumulator (multi-bet) combines several selections – all must win, and SportyBet’s boost adds a percentage per leg (see the Multi-Bet bonus page). Cash out lets you settle a bet early for the current value; the full mechanics are in the cashout guide.
